JOSEPH SULYMA 1931 - 2010 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Joe Sulyma, on November 24, 2010, at 78 years of age. Left to cherish his memory are his three children and four grandchildren; Kathy Kristjanson (Darren), Erik and Hailee; John (Michelle), Justin and Brooklyn, and Randy (Josee); wife Yutta (separated); and brother Pete. Joe was predeceased by six brothers, Nick, Fred, Steve, Paul, Mike, and Frank; and three sisters, Irene, Ann and Joyce. Joe was born in the Fraserwood district to John and Catherine Sulyma on December 10, 1931 where he resided. He owned and worked at the Gimli ESSO for many years, upon leaving the ESSO Joe moved his wife Yutta and young family to Winnipeg and took a new job at Huggards Equipment. After a few years, he purchased a grocery store called Arlington Groceteria where he worked until his retirement. Joe's interests were meeting his friends at the Garden City mall for coffee, occasionally going to the casino, and playing shuffle board and crib at the carriage house, where he lived. Joe loved to watch baseball especially the Blue Jays. He also enjoyed watching football since he and his son John played in a weekly pool. Goodbye Pops, you will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010, in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
