Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL (MIKE) SLUKYNSKI August 23, 1946 - November 16, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, Gigi, brother, uncle and friend, Michael (Mike) Slukynski. After a brief battle with cancer, Mike passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in Fort Saskatchewan, with his daughters holding his hands. He will be remembered for his wit, mischievous sense of humour, twinkle in his eye, and pure heart. Mike was born in Portage la Prairie, MB and proudly served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Tofield, Whitecourt and Fort Saskatchewan. After Fort Saskatchewan, Mike made Edmonton, AB and Selkirk, MB his home. Mike is fondly remembered by his wife, Phyllis (nee Shewchuk) Slukynski and daughters Lorelie (Tyler) Heglin, Nancy (John Beltrano) Slukynski, and Carol Slukynski. His grandchildren Davis, Cora, Emelia and Luca are also deeply influenced by their Gigi and his loving legacy. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Elizebeth (Tom) Haughton, Fred (Charlene) Slukynsky, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Mike was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary (nee Turko) and William Slukynsky, and his dear son, Alexander. A Prayer Service and a Celebration of Mike's Life was held on Tuesday, November 23 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. An interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Edmonton Region. Vichnaya Pamyat - Memories Eternal Gordon and Cindy Kadatz directors in care of arrangements.
