ANNE SEREDIUK (nee MAKSYMCHUK) Our beloved mother, baba, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, November 22, 2010 at the age of 87 years. Mom was born on July 22, 1923 in the RM of Bifrost (Okno). She leaves five children to cherish her memory: Walter Serediuk (Vancouver, BC), Linda Pastetnik, Larry (Carol) Serediuk, Debra (Richard) Urbanik, and Karen (Dale) Krawchuk; 12 grandchildren: Tammy (Jason) Blask, Crystal Serediuk (Duane), Cory Serediuk, Amber (Alan) Gomez, Courtney Urbanik, Erica Pastetnik (Tracey), Christopher Pastetnik, Matthew (Megan) Pastetnik, Nathan Pastetnik, Nicholas Krawchuk, Peter Krawchuk, Benjamin Krawchuk. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing brothers: Peter (Lena) Maksymchuk, and Paul (Lydia) Maksymchuk, sister-in-law Anna Maksymchuk, nieces and nephews, and many friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, two in infancy and John and Michael. Mom had a zest for life. She was a caring, compassionate and gentle soul. Family was important to mom. Her children, 12 grandchildren and the eight great-grandchildren loved the hand knitted mittens, scarves and slippers that she would replenish year after year. Everyone will miss Baba's borscht because it was the best in the world. She was also an avid sports fan and we know she will be watching the Grey Cup with us from the best seat in the house. The family would like to thank the following: Dr. David Crawford and Carla for their excellent care over the years, Dr. Rabson, staff on 5U1, 2, and 3 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Sarah Brown and Dr. St. Godard from Palliative Care, Audrey Todd and Margaret Oliver. Prayers will be said on Monday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. Viewing will be one hour prior to prayers. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Home, Arborg, MB with Father Evan Maximiuk officiating. Interment at Okno Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. If friends so desire, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society of Manitoba, Heart and Stroke Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.
