MARIAN BASS (nee WORONIUK) October 7, 1926 November 22, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2000. She is survived by her children, Susan (Edward), Jan (Linda) and Lorraine (Rick), her grandchildren Mark (Shauna), Jennifer (Nirmal), Liane (Brian) and Ryan (Crystal) and her great-grandchildren Francesca, Gavin and Jesse. Marian was descended from one of the first Ukrainian pioneer families who settled in southern Manitoba in the Gardenton area. After her children started school, she opened her own real estate company and was proud to have been one of the first female real estate brokers in Manitoba. The family would like to thank her family doctor, Christine Duprat, the Palliative Care Program nurses, and especially the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for making her last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. A private family service will be held on Saturday, December 4 at the Cemetery in Gardenton, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
