SARAH ELIZABETH JANE GOERTZEN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on November 26, 2010 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Sarah Elizabeth Jane was 92 and resided in Tudor House for four and a half years. She was born in 1918 in Selkirk, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her daughter Sadie; her mother and father Isabella and Norman Kirton; sisters, Charlotte, Winnie, Mary, Lorelei and Grace; and brothers, Bill, Joe, Winfred and Murdock. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Gwen (David), Ann and Eleanor; sons, Bill (Linda), Jake (Bonnie), Abe (Corinne) and Neil (Cecil); her sister Tina in BC, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She passed away peacefully with family at her side. She was a strong lady and took whatever came along in stride. Thank you to all the staff at Tudor House for the wonderful care they provided our mother. Special thank you to Karen, Kim, Chelsea, Allison and Sharon, you were all great and mother loved to see you. Thanks to the staff at Selkirk General Hospital for keeping her comfortable. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A family memorial will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations can be made to the Selkirk United Church Building Fund in Mother's memory. God doesn't promise days without pain, Laughter without sorrow, Or sun without rain, But, God did promise strength for the day, Comfort for the tears and light for the way And for all who believe in His Kingdom above, He answers their faith with everlasting love.
