HELMUT WUERFEL July 19, 1926 - November 27, 2010 Helmut passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, at the age of 84 years. Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory is his wife Melida, of 55 years. Besides his wife, Helmut will be sadly missed by his son Horst (Judy) Wuerful and their children, Brent (Ashley) and Aidan; daughter Evelyn (Ross) Horton, and their children Gary, Erin, and Glen. Helmut was predeceased by his parents Albert and Marie, two brothers, Willi and Rudolf in Germany, and one sister, Irmgard, in Vancouver. Helmut was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1954 where he married his bride, Melida in 1955. He worked at Kilberry Industries then MacDon Industries for 35 years, where he enjoyed the friendship of many he met along the way. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kahanovitch and Naomi for their wonderful care and to the MacDonald family for their support and kindness over many years. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, Winnipeg at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Heimo Bachmeyer presiding.
