MARIE ST. JEAN May 10, 1924 November 28, 2010 After a lengthy illness with her daughter Carol by her side, Mom passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Mom was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Diane St. Jean, her parents Jean Baptiste Preteau and Valerie Gauthier, her sisters Anita Carriere, Yvette Boaler and Lorette Courcelles, and her brothers Aubert and Fabien Preteau. Marie is survived by her children Rita (Phil Rougeau), Carol (Charles Beaudry), Denis and Paul. She will be fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Suzanne Proulx, Annette Forest, Lauriana (Oscar Audette), sisters-in-law Bernice Preteau and Lola Preteau and many nieces and nephews. Mom devoted herself to her children, always ready to step in and help in her special way. She travelled back and forth to Vancouver many times visiting her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren will have many fond memories of mémère. Mom was also very proud of the many years she volunteered at St. Boniface Hospital. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, December 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the Précieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street with Rev. Father David Brabant officiating. A private interment will follow later. The family wishes to thank the staff at Foyer Valade for their care and compassion given to Mom during her stay. You are all very special care givers.
