DAVID BARRY COLLIER October 6, 1935 - November 24, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of David Collier, with his wife by his side at home in Delta, BC. He is survived by his sister Maureen (Winnipeg), devoted wife Ruth, loving children, Darren (Cathy) and Sherri, grandchildren Jeffrey (Tiffany), Michelle, Amber, Ashley, great-grandson Landon, the Green family and his cherished dog Bayley. Born in Winnipeg, Dave grew up on Valour Rd. and attended Isaac Brock and D.M.C.I. At a young age he played hockey, lacrosse, skied and then settled into golf in his later years. He was actively involved in Darren's sports and coached baseball, soccer and lacrosse for several years. Dave was passionate about food, dry martinis, a fine bottle of wine and trips to Hawaii and Palm Springs. Since retiring from BDC in 1995 he enjoyed spending time with his family. We are grateful he was able to attend a family get together in Vernon last July and meet his great-grandson (7 months) for the first time. A memorial reception will be held at the Delta Funeral Home on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to The Delta Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Our sincere thanks go out to the Delta Police, Fire and Ambulance Services for showing such compassion at this difficult time.
