KATIE KARALASH (nee BZDEL) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Gran and Great-Baba on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are daughters, Mary Swiderski and Kaye Snatenchuk; son, John (Stephanie); grandchildren, Linda (Don), Louise (Fred), Bev (Randy), Kerilee (Richard), Brian (Lesia), Michelle (Jason), Ken (Dawna), Stacey (Mathieu); great-grandchildren, Catherine, Cameron, Erin, Oliver, Sofia, Michael, Laryssa, Anna, Lesia, Ivy and Kaleb. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael; daughter, Julie; sons-in-law, Edward, William and Michael. Less than a year ago at the age of 99, independent and fit, Mom maintained her own home and garden, sharing the bounty of her labour with family and friends. She was a prairie pioneer who together with her husband, Michael, lived in many areas of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, exemplifying simplicity, honesty and compassion for everyone she met. Her extreme love and care for all her family and God, carried her through her long life with grace, courage and humility. She was a member of the U.C.W.L.C. and the Senior's Club at St. Joseph's Church. We would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff of the 5th Floor, Unit 5 at Seven Oaks Hospital for the wonderful, dedicated compassion and care given to our Mom. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 3 at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with a Redemptorist Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the orphans in Ukraine or to the Stained Glass Mosaic Fund at the Church. In your heart was love and understanding, In your voice we heard wisdom and praise, In your eyes we saw kindness and caring. These will be with us forever. To deeply mourn her passing, so thankful for her life are her loving family. REST IN PEACE VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
