He died peacefully on December 1, 2010, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etz Chayim Synogogue, 123 Matheson Avenue. Longer obituary to follow.

I had a healthy fear and respect for this man. I faced him on 3 occasions in 92, 95 and 97. In 92, he had advised me to listen to my lawyer. In 95 he sentenced me to 2 years less a day for Arson and reserved sending me to Stony Mountain because I might become more hardened. I was 22. In 97, he presided over my Theft preliminary hearing which he dismissed the charges as I was actually innocent. He had a look on his face that took wise cracks off any defendant's demeanors.
