PAUL JOSEPH ENGELBERT DESCHENES April 25, 1934 - November 27, 2010 Suddenly, with family by his side, on Saturday, November 27, 2010, Paul Deschenes passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 years. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Alice (nee Normandeau), their children: Monique (Gilles) Laplume, Lynne (Gordon) Richter, Marc (fiance Devon Woodman), grandchildren: Ryan, Kevin, Amy, Adam and Daniel, great-grandchildren: Logan, Jackson and Leyton, sisters Lorette (George) Painchaud, Marie Desaulniers, brother Emile (Flo) Deschenes, sisters-in-law Blanche, Isabelle, Angele, Anne, brother-in-law Emile Boily, Rollie (Sheila) Normandeau, Jules (Leonne) Normandeau, Claude (Dorothee) Normandeau, and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents Ulysses and Anna, brothers: Alphonse, Joseph, Leo, Maurice, David, sisters: Betty and Lucienne, sister-in-law, Winnie Normandeau. Paul was employed with Modern Dairies, University of Manitoba, and retired with the St. Boniface School Division as a custodian. Paul owned and operated SKS Mobile Sharpening business for 15 years. He was an active member of the Club La Verendrye, Knights of Columbus and donated much of his time with the St. Boniface Cathedral. Mom and Dad met at the Circle O bowling lanes and were married September 1, 1956 for 54 years. He was a kind and giving man who would help anyone in need. Family was No. 1 to Dad and he cherished those times spent together. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 de la cathedrale with Father Marcel Damphousse celebrant. Pallbearers will be: Adam and Daniel Richter, Ryan, Kevin, and Amy Devion, Paul Desaulniers, and Dollard Boily. A private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the First Response team in the RM of Ste. Anne's, Manitoba, and emergency staff of St. Boniface Hospital, for all their loving care and support.
