GLENN ROBERT BALDWIN Peacefully on November 29, 2010 Glenn Robert Baldwin passed away at the Stonewall Hospital. Born January 18, 1942, the oldest child of Ron and Marian Baldwin. He was raised on the family farm at Warren with his eight brothers and sisters. After receiving his education at Warren, he began farming with his father, a life he loved. Although diagnosed with diabetes at a very young age, he never allowed it to stand in his way. He played hockey, baseball, curled and enjoyed fishing and hunting. When his children were young he followed and even coached their hockey team and avidly cheered them on in baseball and other activities including 4-H. Glenn and Elaine (Madill) were married in 1966 and they continued the family tradition on the family farm, retiring due to ill health. In 2009, they moved to Stonewall and in July of 2010 found their little cottage in Argyle. He was enthusiastic about the move back to the country, near his children, family and old home. He was predeceased by his father Ron and sister Faye Upton. He is survived by his mother Marian Baldwin, wife Elaine, children Glenda, David (Pauline), Sean (Rosalie) and grandchildren Mathew, Collin, Nicholas, Christopher, Rowan, Tatyanna. He is also survived by brothers Wayne (Eleanor), Barry (Judy), Myron (Brenda), Randy (Dawn), sisters Valerie (Gordon Wilkes), Sharon (Ken Mulligan), Beverley (Don MacMillian) and also by brother-in-law Bob Upton. As well as an extensive family of nieces, nephews, cousins and other members on the Baldwin, Hunter and Madill sides. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Stonewall Hospital staff and Dr. Venter for the excellent care and compassion extended to Glenn over the many years. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. James Bardsley will officiate. The service will conclude at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, if friends so choose, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society, Stonewall Hospital or to a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
