Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADA PAULINE BAILES Peacefully, Pauline Bailes passed away on November 27, 2010 at Meadowood Manor in Winnipeg. Her gracious and loving presence will be missed by her sons, Alan (Judy), Richard (Velvet) and Paul (Linda), and sister-in-law, Margaret Payne. She loved and was loved in return by her grandchildren Christian (Hey-Kyung), Koren, Cameron, Michelle, Joanna, Matthew, Jonathan, Suzi, Kenneth (Leanne), Megan, Jennifer and Stephanie (Mike). She will be missed by her great-grandchildren Taylor, Tristen, Darby, Nikki, Arielle, Alexandra and Edeun. Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Norman Bailes, father, James Dudley Weldon, mother, Ada Emily Popkin, sister-in-law, Winnifred Avery, brother-in-law, David Payne, and daughter-in-law, Alison Bailes. Pauline was born in 1915 in Winnipeg, MB, and attended Lord Roberts and Kelvin High Schools. As a young adult she was an active member of the Winnipeg Canoe Club where she met her husband, Norman, and made many lifelong friends. As a mother of three active boys she provided a solid, warm and nurturing home. Pauline taught Sunday School in her early years and was an active member in the Anglican Church, most recently as a member of St. Bartholomew and St. Mary Magdalene congregations. Her favourite activities were square and round dancing, RV touring, wintering in Texas, and bridge. She took great pride and joy in her grandchildren and their wide-ranging interests and accomplishments. Our family is very grateful for the exceptional care Pauline received from the loving and highly capable staff of Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home where she resided for several years. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 18, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
