ANNE LESIUK July 2,1917 - November 18, 2010 Peacefully passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter, on December 22, 1998. Anne will be remembered by her two sons, Joseph (Darlene), Roman (Rita), granddaughter, Angela (Neill) and her great-grandson, Hudson. Mom was born in Western Ukraine and chose to have a better life by immigrating to Canada. As the war escalated, Mom moved to Germany and worked there for a period of time. After living in Germany she moved on to England. Mom immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in the Point Douglas area. Many of her friends she met during her journey to Canada settled in the same neighborhood. Mom worked at various jobs and retired from Old Dutch Foods after about 20 years. Mom became a faithful member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was a kind hearted, considerate person. She always put her family's interest before hers. One of her passions was her garden. She and her poodle, Pepsi, could be seen in the back yard on any given day nurturing her garden.Then, of course, in the fall harvest she was giving away the over abundance of vegetables to her friends and neighbours. The family would like to thank Dr. Babick and the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home. The love, devotion, and care she received for the last seven years was second to none. Funeral will be held at Korban Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
