DAVID KEITH WALLCRAFT June 28, 1952 - November 29, 2010 Keith Wallcraft, 58, of La Riviere, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Lorne Memorial Hospital, after living with cancer for eight months. Keith grew up and resided north of La Riviere for most of his life. He began his career in autobody, returned to the family farm for 25 years and retired as the manager of the La Salle Redboine Conservation District in March 2010. Keith was a jack-of-all-trades - farmer, carpenter, mechanic, autobody man, plumber, electrician, naturalist, teacher, mediator, musician and inventor. He passed on his love of cars to his son, passion for environment to his daughter and was already teaching his granddaughter about nature when they went exploring . Keith would always stop what he was doing to lend a hand, an ear or advice to family and friends. He loved a good discussion and was happy to be the devil's advocate just to stir things up! He enjoyed spending time at his self-built cabin in the bush alone or with friends, raising his few cows, fishing and hunting . He was looking forward to taking trips with wife Suzanne, playing with grandkids (present and future) and focusing on his own projects after retirement - finishing his '53 Chevy Belair hotrod and renovating a family cottage at Mary Jane Lake. He maintained his quirky sense of humour right to the end and would remind us to Always look on the bright side of life ! He will be missed by Suzanne (nee Picton), his wife of 20 years, son Brian and girlfriend Elyssa MacDonald of Westbourne, daughter Paula and Robin Halabicki of Teulon, grandchildren Sophie and Finley Halabicki, father Robert Wallcraft and Darlene Hayward of La Riviere, brother Bruce and Sheila Wallcraft, sisters Pat and Keith Miles and Michele and Earl Lawson, and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Joan Wallcraft (nee Twilley) and his grandparents. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors, especially Doctors Menzies and Woelk, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre CancerCare. A special thank you to Dr. Bruneau, Dr. Desmund and the nurses of the Lorne Memorial Hospital for their compassion, support and care throughout Keith's illness. Keith asked that in lieu of flowers and cards, donations be made in his memory to Boundary Trails Health Centre CancerCare, Box 2000, Winkler, MB R6W 1H8, or to Lorne Memorial Palliative Care - Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0. As per his wishes, there will be no service. Doyle's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. (www.doylesfuneralchapel.com)
