Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEITH MURRAY JONASSON Keith Murray Jonasson passed away at his residence in Winnipeg on 1st of December, 2010. He was born on 11th of November 1956, the youngest son of Leo Jonasson and Dyrunn (Bjornsson) Jonasson who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Leona Morrow and his five brothers and their wives, Halli (Leola), Gisli (Diane), Unvald (Erla), Gerald (Elva) and Kenneth (Sharon) as well as numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Keith grew up on the family farm in Geysir and first attended a one-room country school at Laufas and later schools in Arborg up to the age of 16. That year he moved to Winnipeg with his parents when they retired from the farm. Keith made friends easily and kept close ties with his many friends from his hometown. There was nothing that he enjoyed more then spending time with friends and he would visit frequently and often stay for extended periods. He was naturally talented with mechanically ability and carpentry skills and was meticulous about keeping things neat and tidy. He held various jobs in Winnipeg area until the fall of 1980 when he suffered a severe motorcycle accident. He was left with significant memory impairment and struggled with the resulting complications for the rest of his life. He lived in Winnipeg, Gimli and later again in Winnipeg until his death. He lived simply. He was gentle and caring with his neighbours in the apartment block where he resided. They appreciated how he took it upon himself to keep the corridors tidy and swept. He was generous to a fault with his friends. The family is not planning a funeral. An interment will take place at a later date. The ashes will be placed in Geysir Cemetery with his parents.
