Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOLORES IRENE SCHULTZ (nee HANDFIELD) 1935 - 2010 Dolores passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Adolphe Personal Care Home Thursday, December 2, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Gord in 1991, her father Jack in 1967, her mother Melva in 2008 and her nephew Ryan in 2009. She will be sadly missed by her five children, Gord (Debbie), Wendy (Michele), Sandy (Kevin), Rhonda (Trent), Jack (Tobi-Lynne); her seven grandchildren Taylor, Stevie-Lee, Bailey, Carter, Rebecca, Kelton and Shelby-Lynne. Also left to mourn her passing are her siblings Linda, Wayne (Leslie) and nephew Shane. Mom was born December 21, 1935 in Saskatoon. She married Gord Schultz in 1954 and they moved with their family to Winnipeg in 1967. Mom worked for Manitoba Telephone System retiring in 1995. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed any opportunity to get out to play her cards. She loved her trips to Club Regent with her good companion Melissa. Mom loved to swim and spent many years enjoying this out at the Oasis Campground where she had a permanent trailer. Times spent out at the Caboose will be fondly remembered. Mom was truly a kind person, she never said a bad word about anyone. She was always willing to let us have a good laugh at her expense. She loved to watch her hockey, Wheel of Fortune and her Lawrence Welk. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at St. Adolphe Personal Care Home for their exceptional care of Mom over this past year. A special thank you to Eva, her fabulous home care worker, while she was still in her home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores' memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment to follow at a later date.
