Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLEN HENRY MILLER 1918 - 2010 Peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2010, Glen Miller passed away at Oakview Place Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Glen is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 68 years, Jessie; son Alan (Alix); daughter Darlene Bears (Garry); son Barry (Linda); grandchildren Donald (Tamara), Kimberly (Tony), Bryan (Sandra), Michael (Carly), Heather (Kris), Delaney (Jon), Jarrett (Carlie), David (Alison), Marc (Kristen), Christine (Kirby); great-grandchildren Rhyann, Dyson, Antoni, Miguel, April, Matthew, Steven, Sydney, Sean, Kyle, Hudson, Devon and Ava; as well as by his brother Howard and brother-in-law Jack Low (Irma). He was predeceased by his brothers Fred (Aileen), Sidney (Lil); sister Vina Hastings (Jack); sisters-in-law, Amy, Raye (Harry), Marjorie, Irene and great-grandson Caymin. Born in Winnipeg on June 22, 1918, Glen met his love, Jessie at the tender age of 12. They were married on August 19, 1942. During the Second World War, Glen served in the Royal Air Force. Following his service he was employed for over 25 years with the General Accident Assurance Company of Canada; first as a Field Representative and then as Branch Manager. He was a Past President of the Blue Goose Insurance Club and the Y's Men's Club of the YMCA Winnipeg. Glen enjoyed golf, curling, music, traveling and summers at the cottage at Whytewold Beach. His greatest love was his wife and best friend, Jessie, as well as his family. He was proud of everyone's accomplishments and truly loved us all. On Thursday, December 2, 2010, a private family Funeral Service for Glen was held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. Donations in Glen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
