Date of Passing: Nov 03, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGIT (PEGGY) CUBBIDGE (nee GRINI) 1914 2010 Peacefully, with her son and daughter at her side, Peggy Cubbidge of Winnipeg, MB passed away on November 3, 2010 at the age of 96. Before moving to Winnipeg, Peggy spent her early years growing up in Camper, Manitoba. From the early age of fourteen she helped support her family by working as a parcel girl in Eaton's. But Peggy had a passion for numbers and this skill led to a lifelong career in bookkeeping. She worked for a variety of employers, including the Municipality of Fort Garry, until 1976 when she started her own bookkeeping business, which she enjoyed and worked at until retiring in 1986. She took great pleasure in driving, and spent many hours selflessly chauffeuring people, food, or whatever needed transportation, for as long as her health allowed. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda, son Tony (Laurie), cousins Edna and Lynne, nieces Corolie, Cheri and Lori, and many friends. Her parents Minnie and Arnt Grini, siblings Mary and Ole, and husband Howard predeceased her. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides in Emergency and 5 North of Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care during Peggy's final days. They would also like to extend their gratitude to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Home Care Program for the loving support provided to her over the past seven years. Peggy was an ordinary person with an extraordinary capacity for love and compassion for her community of family and friends. Her deep abiding faith in God was her fountain of strength and peace. She made the world a better place. Should friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, R3B 1M3. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
