WARD PUTNAM July 2, 1923 - December 3, 2010 H. A. (Ward) Putnam passed away peacefully at the Charleswood Care Centre in the early hours of December 3, 2010. He leaves to mourn his passing Jean, his wife of 66 years, his daughters: Lynda (Ron), Kym (Brian), and Barbara (Martin), as well as seven grandchildren, Jason, Jill, Matthew, Jessica, Coby, Sarah and Joel, as well as five great-grandchildren. Ward was born in Fort William, ON. The family moved to Winnipeg when Ward was in his teens. He joined the Navy in April of 1942 and served until September 1945. Ward enjoyed a professional career as a Chartered Life Underwriter for London Life where he worked for 30 years. Ward was the past president of the Charleswood Curling Club where he became an Honorary Life Member. He was also a life member of the Manitoba Curling Association and a long time member of the Charleswood Golf Club. Ward was proud of his daughters and grandchildren and of their achievements. He will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with reception to follow. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
