KURT DOUGLAS STRASSEL After a long and determined struggle, following heart surgery, Kurt Douglas Strassel passed away December 4, 2010 at the age of 54. Kurt was born to Georgina and Kurt Strassel, November 15, 1956. In his early years he enjoyed spending time at the cottage fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He worked at Manitoba Auto Spring Works for 30 years, where many knew him as The Man behind the desk. It was in 2003 that Kurt along with his brother Glen started Power Hammer Mfg. Kurt was an easy going but complex man, full of personality, patience and dry humour. He is survived by his mother Georgina, Auntie Anne and siblings, Peter (Kathy), Janice (Dale), Elaine (Walter) and Glen (Sherry). His many nieces and nephews include: Kimberley, Anthony, Christina, Andrew, Jennifer, Jonah and Tiana. He was also godfather to Tiana Strassel and Sarah Elias. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home with Father Janusz Maron officiating. Interment and reception to follow. The family would like to thank both the C.I.C.U. and M.I.C.U. teams at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care that Kurt received. Many of you gave so much.
