Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Nicholas and Maria Pawlowsky, Frances was the youngest of five children including brothers and sisters Julia, Pearly, Joey and Kate. She grew up in Winnipeg's North End, moving to Matlock, Manitoba in 1946 after the death of her mother. It was there she met Lloyd, a local fisherman and carpenter who would be her husband of nearly 50 years until his passing in 1997. Frances was mother to seven children, losing daughter Wendy shortly after she was born, and son Brian to an automobile accident when he was 23. She is survived by daughters Lucy (Gerry), Julie (Perry), Elaine (Ron), Kandis (James); son Bruce; as well as grandchildren Jamie, Yvonne, Billy Jack, Bradley, Averley, Dylan, Kristjana, Desiree, Nicholas and David. Frances (or Franny as she was affectionately known) was small in stature but had a big personality. She'll be fondly remembered as a funny, fiesty redhead who lived a simple life and enjoyed sharing drinks and stories with friends and family. Her family thanks Holy Family Nursing Home for their help in caring for Frances this past year, as well as Winnipeg Emergency Medical Services and Seven Oaks Hospital staff for their exceptional professionalism and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, Manitoba with reception to follow.
