ANDRE TRUDEAU Peacefully on December 5, 2010, after a lengthy but courageous struggle with MS, André Trudeau passed away at the age of 63 at the Riverview Health Centre. André was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Simone, his mother-in-law, Thérèse Lavergne, sister-in-law Lise Lavergne and dear friend Bernie Turenne. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Mariette, their children: Danelle (Aaron) Chernichan, Josée Trudeau, his granddaughter Lia Chernichan and bébé deux, brother Guy (Elly), sisters: Rolande (Fernand) Girard, Renée (Gordon) Culham, his in laws: Germain Lavergne, Denis Lavergne, Alice (Raymond) Rajotte, Peter Redecopp, Georges (Lorraine) Lavergne, Paul (Kim) Lavergne, Maurice (Sandy) Lavergne, Monique (Gord) Fraser, Joanne (Claude) Perreault, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. André was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. He and his family moved to St. Boniface where he was raised. André received his degrees from Collège Universitaire de St-Boniface, then went on to teach for the St. Boniface School Division. He ended his 25 years of teaching at Collège Béliveau. As a teacher, André was an inspiration to all his students and colleagues. On June 03, 1972, André married the love of his life. They loved to travel and went on many adventures before they were blessed with two daughters. The foursome continued their outdoor adventures as a family. Family and friends always came first to André. He very much enjoyed the Festival du Voyageur and CCFM where he served on the boards, and was a member of la Brigade de la rivière Rouge. André was a free spirit who lived and loved life to the fullest, always searching for that next great adventure. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., at la Cathédrale de St-Boniface, 190, avenue de la Cathédrale. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Cathedral hall. A private family interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wish to extend a special thanks to the late Bernie Turenne, to Bernie Jounot and to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their loving support, care and friendship.
