Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY WIKDAHL It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother on December 2, 2010 at his winter home in Weslaco, Texas. Henry is survived by his loving wife Betty; sons David and Gordon; grandchildren Barbra, Michael and Keevenie; and great grandchildren Brayden, Betty, Emma. He will also be remembered by his brothers Robert, Earl (Val); sisters Gladys, Mabel (Don); as well as a extensive family of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends, whose lives he touched in so many ways. He was predeceased by his parents and son Stephen (2007) Henry was born April 8, 1931, in Erickson, Manitoba. After leaving school he worked ten years with his father on the farm. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Betty, in 1957 and together they created a loving home for their three sons. His first job was at Bristol Aerospace and then he felt privileged to join Manitoba Power (now Manitoba Hydro) for over 31 years. He retired as a Supervisor at the Waverley Maintenance Shop. Henry believed in life long learning and earned a honourary diploma in Adult Education from Red River College and a Certificate of Industrial Management in Administration from the University of Manitoba. He was the chair of the Association For The Deaf And Hearing Impaired. For 17 years, Henry served on an advisory board for Red River College. Henry was also known for the many years of volunteer work at the local community club and his service on the church council at Epiphany Lutheran Church. After his retirement Henry spent more than twenty years at his winter home in Weslaco, Texas, where his fellowship continued to grow. He was a true gentleman that many would want to emulate. He exhibited integrity in all things, always hard working, sincere in his generosity and service to all who needed him. He was also guided by a strong religious belief and foundation and fellowship throughout his entire life. He was a true inspiration and mentor for many and yet always so humble. His kindness and compassion to all he met was instantly known. He had a huge open heart and walked in wisdom. If you had a chance to spend even a little time with Henry you could feel that he lived his life with peace and purpose as much as humanly possible. We are forever grateful and blessed to have had Henry in our lives. Donations in Henry's memory may be made to the Epiphany Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Memorial service to honour the life he lived will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 200 Dalhousie Drive, Winnipeg, MB. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
