ARMAND ALBERT VALIQUETTE 1934 - 2010 On December 6, 2010 in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital, Al Valiquette passed away peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Al was predeceased by his father Albert and mother Edith. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan, daughter Vicki (Garry), son Rick (Lisa), grandchildren Joey, Lyndon, Kelsey, Jordan, Sydne, Brady, and sisters Yvonne from Bowmanville, Ontario and Marlene (Danny) from Maynooth, Ontario. Al retired from the Winnipeg Ambulance Service after 20 years of service. He was a devoted father and grandfather spending many hours at the soccer fields, hockey rinks and gyms as a spectator, coach, volunteer and fan. He enjoyed his computer and was an avid reader, carpenter, mechanic and virtual jack of all trades. He developed a love for golfing and enjoyed his games at Kildonan Golf Course. The family would like to thank his many friends that supported him throughout his life and during his battle with his illness. Deep felt thanks go to Brian Newton, Don Fotty and Merna Philpot for their many years of friendship. Special thanks go out to the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, your care, compassion and understanding throughout Al's illness is deeply appreciated. In keeping with Al's wishes, cremation will take place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital.
