BARBARA ANN WINTERBURN It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Winterburn on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 surrounded by her family. Left to cherish her memory is David, her husband of 53 years, daughters Tammy (Carl), Dallis (Greg) Shelley (Randy) and son Glenn (Denise), grandchildren Chantel (Macy), Christy, Chad, Jordan, Braedan, Robert, Angela (Jesse), Tyler and Amy. She is also survived by her aunt and best friend Dorothy Beaque and family, and by her brother Alex and sister Shay. Barb was predeceased by her parents David and Myrtle Roman and her brother David. Mom was born August 4, 1938 and spent most of her life in Winnipeg. It was while she was working at the YMCA she met the love of her life David. Barb and Dave married in 1957 and settled in Transcona in 1959 where they have resided since. Mom's greatest passion was her family and her love surrounded us. She was our rock. Her favourite pastimes were reading, planting in her flower beds and her Christmas village. Barb bravely fought breast cancer three years ago and she was determined to fight her recent diagnosis but it proved too difficult. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Bagherli, Lynn, Helena, Arlen and Alex at the St. Boniface ICU. Also, special thanks to the Reverend Dr. Gregory Zubacz for the baptism and anointing before her passing. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 211 Regent Ave. West. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
