LILLIAN BUFFIE (GOJAN)

LILLIAN BUFFIE (nee GOJAN) Embraced in the love and support of her family, Mom left this world on Monday, December 6, 2010, in the same way she lived life; with a calm, quiet and peaceful essence, and with the dignity she so deserved. She was 84 years old. Lillian had an immense dedication to her family, proving her strength of conviction during the many challenges of her life which seemed impossible to overcome. She was unpretentious, and in her personal faith in Jesus, she drew strength in believing that for whatever reasons, it was why she was gifted to us. We would come to know that during the draw of her last soft and unassuming breath, she was internally powerful beyond anything we ever imagined. Thanks be to God for guiding Mom home, where she is now joyful and free from all burdens. Her surviving children were blessed to be able to hold, love and comfort her while she was on this last worldly journey; Gary (Cathy), Marilynn (Alan, Scott) Phillips, Dave (Mary-Anne), Jim (Lara), Sandy (Rob, Brookelynn) Waite, and Chris (Larry) Cowan. She is with her entire family now, including our brother Lloyd. We are eternally grateful to the special caregivers of the St. Francis Ward at Holy Family Nursing Home, especially nurse Kathy who provided compassion, guidance and support over the past eight years of Mom's dementia. She holds a special place in all our hearts. In lieu of flowers, we request a donation to Holy Family Nursing Home, specifically to the memory of Lillian Buffie, so that one life lived with dementia can help another. A reception at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., will be held prior to the formal service and interment at Brookside Cemetery. Peace be with you Mom
