Sigmar and Hulda were married on October 24, 1953 and began their life together on Osi . Over the years, Sigmar and Hulda, along with their children, cultivated a successful mixed farming operation. Sigmar was a kind, generous, loving and devoted family man. Children and grandchildren alike inherited his strong work ethic. This trait, more than any other, made him extremely proud of their accomplishments. Sigmar's interests included travelling, nature, gardening, fishing, golfing, strawberry picking, flying and especially his Icelandic heritage. Lifelong friendships were the reward of his interests. A sincerely community minded citizen, Sigmar served on the Lutheran Church Council, Riverton Co-op Board, Riverton Credit Union Board, and Elks Lodge. As a founding member of the Icelandic River Heritage Sites Inc., Sigmar's latest endeavour seeks to preserve local Icelandic history for future generations. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the medical staffs of CancerCare MB and Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital.
