ARNOLD JEROME CONNER On December 1, 2010, Arnold Conner passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the age of 68. He will be dearly missed by his loving children Michael (Alissa), Shawna and Steven (Karla), his grandchildren Lise, Jonah and Sophie, sister Bobby, mother-in-law Dora, brother-in-law Irv, nieces and nephews Debby (Norm), Marshall (Leora), Audra (Evan), Paula (David), Esther (Jim), Sol (Debbie), David (Tanya), Lea (Albert), great nieces and nephews and many friends. Arnold was predeceased by his wife Lil, after sharing 36 beautiful years of marriage. Their love and devotion to each other was an inspiration for their children. Arnold and Lil enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with family and friends, taking walks, gardening and cooking together. He was a caring and loving father who taught his children the importance of family and living honestly, with integrity, generosity and love. These values will continue to guide his children. Arnold was also a very proud Zaida. He took immense joy in his grandchildren and loved to babysit and play with them. It was not only family who benefitted from his wisdom, compassion and mentorship. Arnold was extremely generous with his time, always willing to help a friend in need with advice and support. He had a terrific sense of humour and a playful spirit. He was a naturally curious person and loved to engage in vigorous debate about many topics. Arnold's career was also a very important part of his life. He served as a Judge of the Provincial Court of Manitoba for 27 years before his retirement in 2005. He put his heart and keen intellect into his work and was respected as a very fair-minded person who strove to do justice. Our sadness is immeasurable. We will always cherish the deep love and wonderful memories that Arnold brought to our lives. Donations may be made in Arnold's memory to the Arnold and Lil Conner Memorial Fund at the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, 409 Taché Avenue, Unit D1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6, phone (204) 237-2067.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I faced this man in 1995. Even though I was sentenced to 2 years less a day, I always understood that he was a respectable man. He never did me harm. I would sure be respectable towards him when I saw him again at a preliminary hearing in 97. I wish him well on the other side. Even though I was given a severe term, I always respected him for it. He was right for doing what he did. He put the fear of God in me. He reminded me of a Vice Principal I had in Junior high school back in Selkirk. - Posted by: Gordon Fiddler (Former Defendant) on: Apr 12, 2015
