CINDY ANN LALCHUN (nee VISSER) Peacefully, on December 7, 2010, with family and friends by her side, Cindy Lalchun lost her brief but courageous battle with cancer. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dean Lalchun and sons, Tyler and Troy. Cindy is predeceased by her mother, Freida Visser. She will be mourned by her sister, Sherry Boutcher, brother, John (Laura) Visser, sister-in-law, Dayna Lalchun (Lou Savard), her Beppe, Teena Visser, in- laws Janet and Norman Lalchun, and nieces and nephews Sarah, Matthew, Bethany, John Isaac, Reece and Keaton, and her father, John Visser. Cindy will also be sincerely missed by many other family members and close friends who she cherished. Born January 9, 1964, Cindy grew up in North Kildonan. She attended River East Collegiate and continued her education at Scientific School of Beauty. Cindy had many loyal hairdressing customers not only because of her masterful skill but also because of her joyful spirit. Cindy brought her work home with her and trimmed the heads of many friends and family in her kitchen. Cindy spent many years working for Centerplate at the Stadium and Arena. More recently Cindy began working at Hallmark (McIvor Mall). She loved both the job and the clients, but mostly she loved the many wonderful people with whom she worked. After dating for seven years, Cindy and Dean were married on July 9, 1988 and they had two children, Tyler and Troy. Cindy loved her boys with her whole heart and they were the centre of her life. She was their cheerleader, champion, friend, companion, mentor and the core of their family. Cindy made a mean hash brown casserole and made The Lalchun house a home. Cindy loved her summer trips to Birds Hill Park to camp with family and friends. She had recently extended her traveling plans to include Las Vegas and Halifax; Cindy loved to embrace new experiences. Cindy was connected to her family and friends either in person, by text or by Facebook at all times. Cindy was a devoted friend who you knew would be there through thick and thin. Her deep friendships were clearly demonstrated by the outpouring of love and support in her battle with cancer. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Science Centre on wards GD6 and GH4 for their care and compassion throughout this difficult time. Viewing and visitation on Sunday December 12, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main St. Winnipeg. A celebration of Cindy's life will be held at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church on Knowles Avenue Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 10:00am, with viewing one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. If you knew Cindy, you were loved by Cindy. We are better people for knowing her. Thank you, Cindy, for being a part of our lives; you will be dearly missed and remembered, especially around a campfire!

I will always remember Cindy for her hospitality when we would visit. I knew her to be loving, caring and always unselfish. I am saddened by her passing, but know that she is with the Father. Although we were separated by miles, I am grateful for the times when her name would pop up on my Facebook chat box, she would often share things that she was excited about with me. The pride she had in her sons and the gratitude she had for her husband. Never an unkind word about anyone. She will be missed. Love, Uncle Harold - Posted by: Harold Visser (Family) on: Dec 11, 2010

From all of us at the Never Alone Foundation, please accept our thoughts and prayers. Cindy was always there for us for not only for the Bomber games but also for the Never Alone Foundation. They say the way we get to live forever is through memories stored in the hearts and souls of those we love. Cindy has touched so many of us that this is certainly true. Please let me know if we can list her on our Foundation website's memory wall. Shirlee Preteau Never Alone Foundation - Posted by: Shirlee Preteau (Co-Worker) on: Dec 09, 2010
