ROSE DENISE VODON (nee MASSICOTTE) Peacefully at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, Rose Vodon passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 with her family at her side. Rose was born in St. Pierre Jolys, Manitoba on November 26, 1916. In November 1954 Rose married Albert Vodon. Rose and Albert farmed south of Virden until they retired to the town of Virden in 1984 where Rose lived until her husband passed away on January 31, 1994. Rose moved to Winnipeg and lived at Chez Nous in St. Boniface until moving into the Kildonan Personal Care Centre in 1999. Rose loved music, cooking, gardening, sewing and knitting amongst many other things. Rose had a good sense of humor and was also very generous; everyone else always came first. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters; Annette (Denis) Boutin and Marie (Robert) Nagy; three grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Boutin, Chantelle (Craig) Faas and David Boutin and two great-grandchildren Addyson and Presley. As well Rose is survived by two sisters Alice Cloutier and Irene (George) Cloutier; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Rose was predeceased by her father Alfred Massicotte in 1962 and her mother Aurore (nee Quellet) in 1974 and by four sisters, Sr. Eugene, Emma, Jeanne and Berthe; five brothers, Jean, Edouard, Louis, Arthur and Raymond. The family wishes to thank the staff of Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their care and attentiveness over the past eleven years. Rose was well cared for and the family is very appreciative to all. Funeral services for Rose will be held on Monday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church located at 264 Donwood Drive (North Kildonan) in Winnipeg, Manitoba; services terminating at the church with luncheon to follow. Interment will be at the Virden Cemetery the following day, Tuesday, December 28 with the funeral procession departing from the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 461 Queen Street W., Virden, Manitoba at 1:00 p.m. with luncheon to follow at the Catholic Parish Hall.
