LEONARD WILLIAM GALPIN Peacefully on December 5, 2010 at the Deer Lodge Center Leonard Galpin passed away at the age of 97 years. Leonard is survived by his grand-niece Janice and husband Lorne Kivith as well as many cousins in the United States and Canada. He is also survived by many close friends and will be deeply missed. Leonard was the youngest of seven children. He spent his life helping others and was a caring person who dedicated himself to providing comfort to those in need. He had a fantastic wit and a wonderful memory for old films. Leonard served during the Second World War in various clerical positions in Canada, England, and Italy. Following the war he worked for many years for the City of Winnipeg as a private secretary for the City Engineer until his retirement. Leonard was always a generous person who cared deeply about education and even established a foundation to provide financial aid to help university continue their studies. For many years Leonard was an active member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at St. Mary's Cathedral 353 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
