LISA ANN WILWAND (nee KIRKUP) October 12, 1965 December 7, 2010 With deep sadness the family announces the passing of Lisa Ann Wilwand, age 45 years, at the Health Sciences Centre after a very short battle with cancer. Lisa will be sadly missed by her husband Mike; daughters, Ashley, Katelynn, Amber, Athena and son John; her father Tom Kirkup and brothers, Joseph and Rodney. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian Kirkup. Lisa worked at Canada Post until 1990, when she fell ill with Crohns Disease. Lisa and Mike were married in 1992. She was a strong supporter of Special Olympics Manitoba Rythmic Gymnastics. Lisa was a strong, loving, caring person who taught us all about family values and was the type of person that would give the shirt off her back if she could. She always made sure the children had what they needed, and so much more. Lisa opened her heart to two more children, and even with the long battle of court cases she never gave up. She was very proud of her children and made sure that every holiday was celebrated, the outside and inside of the house was fully decorated. Lisa loved to see the kids get excited, smile and laugh, and will be deeply missed. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Ave. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Lisa's memory to the Autism Society of Manitoba or Special Olympics Manitoba.
