DORIS MARY CROOK November 22, 1927 December 8, 2010 Doris Crook passed away on December 8, 2010 at home, which was her wish, with her daughter, Jo Anne by her side. She is survived by her loving daughters Jo Anne, Maureen (Cleo); grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her sister Mary and brother Herbert in England, many nieces and nephews both in Canada and in England. She is predeceased by her mother Sedonia and father Herbert Lawley, sister Joyce and her husband Thomas Crook (1998). The world lost the most beautiful, wonderful, generous, compassionate, humorous, supportive and understanding person. A person that just wanted the happiness of others and did not concentrate on herself. I have never met another like her and never will. She will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, smile and wit. Mom came over from England as a War Bride and had two daughters. She raised them on her own until she met Tom Crook. He then obtained an instant family. They were very happy, moving into a home in East Kildonan. They loved to travel. They went to England, Bahamas, Phoenix, Hawaii, Las Vegas and gambling trips. Sometimes Jo Anne would accompany them. Mom loved yakking over the fence to everyone, going for walks and feeding the dogs, going to the casino, out for coffee to Tim Horton's and going out for lunch or dinner. Mom worked at Eaton's for many years in the Valley Room as a Supervisor and later at Comcheq Services Ltd. sending out payrolls. Mom: You were the best mother in the world, my best friend , confidant and partner in crime. I cherished the time we shared and everything we did together. We shared the good and later the bad times. I love you and always will, no one can take that away. I will miss you everyday till we meet again. Jo Anne Mom and I would like to thank the Home Care Aides; Lola and Richard, her Home Care Nurses, as well as Jim from Mobile Home Physiotherapy. We would also like to thank Amy and Glady, her good friends for their support and many visits, as well as Jessie, her buddy for nearly 50 years. In accordance with Mom's wishes, she has been cremated and no formal service will be held. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
