Clyde is survived by his wife, Helen and his five children: David (Laura) of Kingston, Marlene Stones (Tony) of Oshawa, Shirley Allan-Boudreau (Victor) of Winnipeg, Lois Tomchak (Roland) of Winnipeg, and Grant (Coral) of Alice Springs, Australia, plus 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and his sister Jean Styan of Winnipeg. Clyde, the third of nine children of Robert and Frances Allan always displayed his devotion to his family. His mother and his grandmother (Jennie Gray) were a regular part of our family life. Clyde was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan March 14, 1914 and spent his childhood living with his family across the Prairie Provinces before they settled in Winnipeg. Following high school he joined the work force during the tough times of the 30s. He married Helen Ault on October 18, 1941 in Winnipeg and joined the Canadian Air Force in 1942. He trained as a Bomb Aimer with the Commonwealth Air Crew Training Program prior to going overseas in 1943. He flew 33 missions between 1943 and 1944 and returned home to Canada in early 1945. He was a member of the Wartime Pilots Association in Winnipeg. Clyde and Helen's family was a huge source of pride and joy. Family vacations at Matlock and at Clear Lake were much anticipated and enjoyed. Clyde worked in sales with several companies and travelled extensively throughout Manitoba. He joined Dominion Bridge in 1965 and worked there until his retirement. Clyde's passion was curling in which he was an accomplished and competitive participant for over 70 years. This is highlighted by participation in 56 Manitoba Curling Association (MCA) Bonspiels, from 1935 to 1992, missing only two years while he was overseas. Clyde also skipped his team to the inaugural MCA Provincial Masters (60+) Championship in 1982. Clyde was a member of the Granite and Deer Lodge Curling Clubs for many years. He curled with Deer Lodge Antlers Seniors' league until he was 92. Clyde was also an avid golfer and for many years a member of the Southwood Golf and Country Club.
