PHYLLIS MILDRED HAIG October 20, 1920 - December 8, 2010 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on December 8 at Riverview Health Centre. Phyllis is survived by her husband John; son Norman (Inger); daughters Margaret and Valeria; granddaughters Sherry (Anders), Angel (Jamie) and Shelley (Craig); and great-grandson Aidan. Phyllis was born in Portsmouth, England, an English War Bride in 1943 and came to Canada in January, 1947. Phyllis loved to garden and tend to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis also had great joy in solving jigsaw puzzles and going for long walks. Phyllis very much enjoyed her outings with her special friend Lily. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Riverview Health Centre, especially the B1 Wing staff for their care and comfort our mother received during her stay. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Wpg. MB R3L 0K6.
