MR. PONNAMPALAM VELUPPILLAI NAVARATNAM (Retired Assistant Commissioner, Department of Co-operatives, Sri Lanka) Born: November 15, 1920 Departed: December 12, 2010 Mr. Navaratnam was born in Malaysia, lived his early years in Tholpuram and Columbuththurai and spent the last 26 years in Winnipeg, Canada, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Pathini Navaratnam; son Srinarayanathas (Das); and daughters, Kosala, Vathsala, Srisala (Dr. Sri Navaratnam); daughter-in-law Kala; and sons-in-law, Mr. Sivananthan, Mr. Ratna (Shanthan), Dr. Sri Ranjan; and grandchildren, Dr. Shobana, her husband Sanjeevan, Gokulan, Muraly, Lavan, Kalpana, Namanan, Sarangan, Sayoan, Neelan, Vaelan; and great-grandchildren, Vidhya and Varoun. Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
