GERALD (GERRY) MONTGOMERY VINES September 22, 1943 - December 9, 2010 Gerry passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at his residence, Park View Lodge in Crystal City, Manitoba, in his 68th year. He was born September 22, 1943 in Dauphin, Manitoba, the eldest son of Sid and Marg Vines. Gerry grew up and lived his life in Crystal City, farming with his Dad and later with his brother Don. He had a keen interest in travelling and loved to discuss geography. He could tell you the population of any city in this world, or what the temperature currently was in Victoria, BC. Gerry had a strong interest in world affairs and would always ask his nieces to bring him a Vancouver Sun newspaper home from the city. He lived his life for his family, and was always interested in what was happening in their lives. He enjoyed the fellowship of the other residents in the Lodge and would enjoy a cup of coffee every morning in the living room where they would discuss current events. Left to mourn his passing are his brothers, Dale, Don, wife Glenyce and their daughters, Teressa (Brad), Brooke (Nic) and Ashley (Matt); sister Sharon (Bob) and their daughters, Jamie and Kristen. Also his great-niece Makaela and great-nephews, Gavin and Keegan. His Auntie Dot, Uncle Daryl, Auntie Ruth and Uncle Wally and a close cousin Elaine Kehler. He will be missed by many. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Sid and Marg Vines, and his Uncle Ken and Auntie Mame. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park View Lodge in Crystal City.
