ELMA BARKMAN 1914 - 2010 Elma Barkman of Steinbach passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Maplewood Manor at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her children: Ray (Darlene) of Vancouver, Mary Wiebe of Abbotsford, BC, Marg (Kerry) Frayme of Abbotsford, BC, Sid (Edith) of Steinbach, Carol (Clint) Giesbrecht of Whitemouth; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Vernon Toews of Abbotsford. She was predeceased by her husband Waldon A. Barkman in 2003 and seven siblings. Together Elma and Waldon owned and operated Steinbach Cold Storage for 21 years. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
