DARLENE MCNEIL (nee KIRKNESS) May 20, 1947 - December 13, 2010 With family by her side, at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Darlene, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, went home to her Eternal rest. She joins in Heaven her mother and father, Fred and Gladys Kirkness; brothers, Reggie and Clarence; sisters, Maria Jane, Margaret, Ida, Rosalyn and Gladys Mae; nephew David Poerschke. Darlene is survived by her husband George; daughters, Gloria (Earl) and Pamela (Leon); son Rennie; grandchildren, Clarissa, Waylon. Gavin, Tyson, Caleb, Zack, Isaiah, Luke and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Shanta, Xavier, Amelia and Darius; step-daughters, Sherry-Anne, Chrystal (Earl) and Ada; sisters, Verna and Mary Ann, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Darlene was our family anchor, keeping in touch with relatives far and wide. She was also our family historian. We will miss her dearly. Our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Health Sciences Centre, Percy E. Moore Hospital and the Fisher River Cree Nation. Viewing will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Ashern. Wake service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Fisher River Community Centre, Fisher River, Manitoba.
