Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAY ROBERTSON December 31, 1921 - December 15, 2010 Born Mary Rosie Elrick in Scotland, she first came to Canada as a little girl, returning to Scotland and coming back to Canada permanently at the age of 15. Two years later May met the love of her life. After the war, May and Les settled in Sturgeon Creek, raising four children, joining Sturgeon Creek United Church where May was an active member of the UCW. They also actively supported the local community club. May enjoyed dancing and met many friends through their Square Dance Club and later, social evenings at the Legion. In later years, they travelled extensively with their friends at the Over 60 Club and the MSOS. May had a wide and varied range of interests and concerns. They actively supported their Church, the Grace Hospital, the new Grace Hospice and her favourite, the Winnipeg Humane Society. Her home and family were her pride and joy. She was a dedicated wife and mother. A feast was prepared for every special occasion, holiday and birthday. With her pleasant smile and demeanor, she made everyone feel special and welcome. There was always room for one more at her table and more than once a stranger enjoyed incredible hospitality, whether it be in our home or at the family cottage. Friends of all ages loved visiting them. May and Les were partners and best friends for 70 years. It is almost impossible to think of one without the other. Today, May has joined her beloved Leslie (April 11, 2010) in the Lord's eternal love and grace. Predeceased by her youngest daughter, Louise, May leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her children, Sheila Austman, Nelson Robertson, Jack Robertson (Brenda); along with her grandchildren, Sharron Lawrence, Chris Lawrence (Martha), Bonnie Nisbet (Matt), David Robertson (Alicia) and Niki Robertson; and great-grandchildren, Elijah and Sophie Nisbet. The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides on the 3rd floor of Oakview Nursing Home, for their kindness, respect and care that you have given her. Flowers are gratefully declined, memorial donations in May's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or The Salvation Army, 203-290 Vaughan St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2N8. Funeral service will be held at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thomson Drive at 1:00 p.m.on Thursday, December 23, 2010. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
