IVY OAKLEY It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ivy at Oakview Place on December 14, 2010. Ivy will be sadly missed by her children, Maureen, Sylvia (Ted), David (Yvette), Linda (Bill) and Bonnie (Brian), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ivy was predeceased by her husband Al and son-in-law Helge. Ivy was born and raised in Winnipeg. She married Al and they had five beautiful children who they raised with much love and compassion. Ivy was completely unselfish, always letting others go first. She loved to garden, read and watch professional wrestling. Right up until the end, she kept herself busy around the house, from shoveling snow in the winter to cutting the grass in the summer. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview Place, especially Maureen M., Nicole and Shirley for their incredible care and compassion with Ivy. Respecting Ivy's wishes there will be no funeral and interment has taken place. Ivy was laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mom You can only have one mother Loving, kind and true No other friend in all the world Will be so true to you For all her love and kindness She asked for nothing in return If all the world deserted us To our Mother we could turn For those of you who have a Mother Treasure her with care For you will never know her value Til you see that she is not there To hear her voice to see her smile To sit and talk with her awhile To be together in the same old way Would be our dearest wish today. Love you Mom and we will miss you! Chapel Lawn 885-9715
