Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO PAUL DUPUIS February 13, 1940 December 15, 2010 It with sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Paul Dupuis on December 15, 2010 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Leo was predeceased by his wife Joann after sharing 39 years of marriage. After his wife died Leo was very fortunate to have found someone to share the last nine years of his life. He leaves to mourn his friend Linda Wark, his daughters: Paulette (Brian Goossen), Michelle (Garth Steinert), Denise (Rick Taylor), Nicole Enns and one son Ronald (Kathy Veert); grandchildren: Ryley, Chelsey, Caley Steinert, Cassandra, Makenzie Taylor, Meghan Roberts, Rebecca, Kristina Goossen, Shadoe, Deveraux, Skylar, Coby Enns, Marcella Dupuis, Vanessa, Christina, Frank Veert, great-granddaughter Kendall Lane Montoya and Olivia Lynch; brother Maurice (Colette), sister Jeanine and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda's daughters Treva (Duncan Eaglesham), Loralea, and son Darwin, granddaughters Kaylee and Kamryn Eaglesham. Leo was born February 13, 1940 in the family home in Letellier, Manitoba. He married his high school sweetheart on October 7, 1961 and they were blessed with five fabulous children (well dad might argue that). Dad worked hard so that his family could enjoy family trips camping in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. If you ask dad what his most prized possession was, it was his truck and camper which he hauled down south in the winters to join other Canadian snowbirds. It was very difficult for him when he was no longer able to make that journey and had to eventually sell his camper. The last several months in hospital were frustrating for him because he could not drive his truck. If we could only have given him that one last wish for a ride in his truck. As a family we realized just what a legacy he left as there was a steady stream of visitors throughout the last few months in hospital. Thank you to these many special people for making the days tolerable and showing just what he meant to all of you. To the nurses and health care aids at Boundary Trails Health Centre we would like to extend a special thank you because we know that all your interactions were not bright and sunny. Many of you were able to give back what you got and we enjoyed your sense of humour. Thank you to Dr. Menzies, Dr. Woelk and the staff at CancerCare. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews United Church in Emerson, Manitoba on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bob Stark officiating. In keeping with Leo's wishes cremation has taken place. Inurnment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Central Region Health Authority Palliative Care Program, or to the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation Palliative Program would be greatly appreciated.
