SARA (SADIE) PENNER 1958 - 2010 It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sara (Sadie) Penner on Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Boniface General Hospital at 52 years of age. Sadie was predeceased by her brother, Abe, and parents, Sara and Abram. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Stephen (Amanda) and David (Melissa); her sister, Helen (Clark); brothers, Bernie (Simone) and Dave (Dawna); sister-in-law, Betty (Dave). Sadie will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Norman (Xin), Glen (Tonya), Darryll (Sherry), Brad (Sherri), Jeff (Elaine), Debbie (Shawn), Shelley (Geoff), Neil (Melissa), and the girls, Dana (Vic), Daphne, and Dawn (Jay), as well as many great-nieces and nephews, and loving friends. Born in Brunkild, Manitoba on January 5, 1958, Sadie grew up in Portage la Prairie and then moved to Winnipeg as an adult where she resided as of late. On June 12, 1982, she married Rob Burgess, with whom she had two children and spent the next 16 years of her life. For many years, Sadie was employed by Centra Gas/MB Hydro. She loved to travel and visited Hong Kong, Hawaii and Las Vegas with family. Full of life and enthusiasm, Sadie truly enjoyed spending her spare time with her family and friends. Mom, we will miss your overwhelming generosity, kindness, patience, strength, courage, understanding and compassionate nature. Most of all, we will miss your one-of-a-kind hugs. We would like to thank all the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
