Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE BUCHHOLZ Dad will be sleeping in Heavenly Peace this Christmas. He passed away quietly at St. Norbert Personal Care Home on December 16, 2010 at the age of 83 years. George will be dearly missed and always remembered by his wife, six children and their families, which includes 16 grandchildren and his many relatives and friends. Life began in Morden, MB on April 19, 1927. He completed his education in Winnipeg and then turned his love of photography into a career. He fell in love and married Agnes, and a family life full of adventure ensued. They boarded a train destined for the great white north, a.k.a. Thompson, where George established The Camera Centre . The north provided the perfect playground for hunting, fishing, x-country skiing and numerous other activities. As a lifelong Rotarian, George supported many community events. George sat on both the Hospital board and the School board for many years. The cabin at Setting Lake, that George built was a joyful gathering place shared by many friends and family. Kodak moments included waterskiing, picture taking, card games, boating, more photos and spectacular sunsets of which George has one or two (hundred) pictures. George retired in 1992 and returned to his roots in Morden. George and Agnes spent many winters with friends in Texas, where he excelled at shuffleboard and they line danced the hours away. Following Agnes' death in 1998, George was blessed to meet and marry Dottie Persons. They shared 10 golden years together. Family was special to him and he savoured our adventures shared on recent vacations to the Caribbean. His quiet wit and sense of humour will be deeply missed by those who knew him. When George was around the sun always shone a little brighter! A funeral mass celebrating George's life will be held on Wednesday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Roman Catholic Parish, 847 St. Mary's Rd. We would like to thank all who have provided loving care for Dad. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba. God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman !

My beloved Mother (Mavis Cormier née Knowles) was a childhood friend of George in Morden MB. The families remained friends when both my parents (Mike and Mavis) and (George and Agnes) moved to Thompson MB in the early 1960's. I always knew George to be a kind and soft spoken man. He was devoted father. I enjoyed babysitting for the family and watching the children grow into adulthood. I am certain both George and Agnes are happily reunited with their dear friend and my beloved mother Mavis (who passed away suddenly in April 2011). - Posted by: Patricia Brennan née Cormier (friend) on: Nov 02, 2012

My sister Joan and I (Geri) nee Swayze wish peace to the Buchholz family at this time of their loss. May he and my Father (Mervyn Swayze and his brother Earl Swayze) sit down to a a glass and talk of the old times and old friendships and their childhood in Morden.
