MARK SHENBACK February 17, 1949 - December 2, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark Shenback, our beloved husband, father, son and friend on December 2, 2010 at the age of 61 years. Mark was predeceased by his father Jack and his father-in-law Russ Kowall. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Elaine and their son Brett (Meghann), his mother Ruth and his sister Pam Braun. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sharon and Harvey Turbovsky, Wendy and David Grusko, Syd and Barb Kowall, Jan and Jerry Klein, Howard and Pam Kowall, nieces and nephews as well as many relatives and friends. Mark graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in education. He taught elementary school at Belmont, West St. Paul, Clifton and Machray Schools. Mark loved teaching but his illness ended his career early. Mark will be remembered as a kind, gentle, generous, humble man who never complained about the hardships that challenged him. Mostly, Mark will be remembered as a loving son, a wonderful husband and a great Dad. Services were held at Etz Chayim Synagogue on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Pallbearers were his nephews: Darcey Turbovsky, Andrew Kowall, Harley Grusko, Brody Grusko, Philip Klein and Ira Kowall. Honorary pallbearers were: Harvey Turbovsky, David Grusko, Syd Kowall, Jerry Klein, Howard Kowall, Ron Pepper, Ron Cantor and Mark Shinewald. If desired, donations may be made in Mark's memory to The Crohn's and Colitis Society, CancerCare Manitoba, CNIB or to a charity of your choice. You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he lived.
