KENNETH JAMES (KAZIMIERZ TADEUSZ TOZICZKA) Awarded Virtuti Militari medal, 1939-45 It is with great sorrow we announce that Ken passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Tuxedo Villa with his wife and daughter at his side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases at the age of 91 years. Remaining to forever cherish Ken are his beloved wife of 66 years of marriage, Gwendolen; son Tony (Katherine); daughter Liz (Bill) Stevens; granddaughter Christina Jones of Pasadena; grandsons John (Lisa) Stevens of Sherwood Park, Christopher James of Victoria; niece Sally (Carla); nephews Rick (Fran), John (Carol) and family in Poland. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Cela and Stasia. Ken was a wonderful, affectionate and loving husband, father and grandfather. Ken was born to Antoni and Michalina Toziczka in Kalusz, Poland. He served as a flying officer in the Royal Air Force 300 Squadron during the Second World War. A brilliant artist, he graduated from the College of Aeronautical Engineering in London England and was commissioned to contribute artwork to the first edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. Ken was recruited as a technical illustrator by Bristol Aircraft Company in Winnipeg in 1957 and subsequently worked as a commercial artist for Eatons for 22 years. Art continued to be his hobby when he retired. He and Gwen (his soulmate and best friend) shared many happy years just being together and enjoying travelling to distant parts of the world. In compliance with Ken's wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at Station 3 at Tuxedo Villa for the care and compassion they provided to Ken over the past few months. Flowers are gratefully declined; please consider a donation to the charity of your choice
