DOREEN COLEMAN Peacefully with friends by her side, Doreen passed away at the Arborg and District Health Centre on December 15, 2010 at the age of 74 years, after a short battle with cancer. Doreen was born on December 3, 1936 in Saskatchewan but lived and grew up in Breezy Point. At an early age Doreen moved to Kansas and then to Seattle, Washington before finally moving to Alaska where she worked for 28 years. In 1992 she retired to Arborg where she became quite involved with the Hospital Auxiliary Seniors Floor Curling and St. Philips Church. She loved travelling and was noted for collecting friends. It didn't matter what time of day that one dropped by, the coffee pot was always on. Doreen cherished her many friends from all over Canada and the States. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Fr. Paul Disson officiating. Viewing will take place one hour prior to. Interment will follow in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Selkirk. Her friends and family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and homecare for their very kind and compassionate manner during Doreen's illness. Donations in Doreen's memory may be made to the Arborg and District Health Auxiliary or to St. Philip's Church in Arborg.
