FLORENCE IRENE DERRETT (nee GREENE) (born December 5, 1925 Winnipeg) Irene, as she is known to her friends and family, quietly passed away on December 7, 2010 just days after celebrating her 85th birthday. A woman before her time balancing a career and family, her life was full of achievement and love. Irene was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi, legal assistant, bookkeeper, Convention Planner, Founding member of Convention Consultants, President of the Ontario Genealogical Society, and other charitable causes over her lifetime. Irene always had time to care for her loving husband Walter, of 61 years, who pre-deceased her in 2009; her children, Gregg (Karen) and Kelley; and grandchildren, Cameron and Logan. The oldest of three sisters, Irene was predeceased by Marie McCrae in 2006, and is survived by and will be missed by sisters, Gail Isaak of Winnipeg and Patricia Hunter of Alberta. The family would appreciate memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or a charity of your choice. Memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Toronto.
