Date of Passing: Dec 14, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN RADEMAKER Peacefully on December 14, 2010, surrounded by her family, Helen Rademaker of Winnipeg went home to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ. Helen was born January 25, 1951 in Volendam, Paraguay. At three years old, she came to Canada with her family and settled in Steinbach, Manitoba. Upon finishing high school, she completed her Registered Nurse's training at St. Boniface School of Nursing and worked in Labour and Delivery for many years. Helen was predeceased by her father George C. Enns, her brother Henry Enns and an infant sister Anna. Left to mourn and rejoice in her memory are her husband Bill, sons Chris (Jodi) and Corey (Nicole) and daughter Charlotte all of Winnipeg. She also leaves her mother Anna, her brother George (Joyce) of Saskatoon and her five sisters, Mary (Earl) Unger and Anne (Eric) Froese of Steinbach, Nettie (Mark) Strople and Tina (Rick) Greifenhagen of Winnipeg and Linda (Ken) Janzen of Plum Coulee, and sister-in-law Olga Krassioukova-Enns of Winnipeg. She also leaves her mother-in-law Wally Rademaker of Winnipeg, her brothers-in-law John (Violet) Rademaker of Oakbank and Fred (Donna) Rademaker of Evanston, Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews. Helen was a joy to be around. Her love for Jesus shone through in her friendliness and radiance to all she came in contact with. Her volunteer work at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, Christian Women's Club and Crisis Pregnancy Center were times of joy in serving her God. Her long career at St. Boniface Hospital gave her some of her closest friends and the L+D Babes were constantly doing things together. She was involved in a number of small group Bible studies. She loved her two little sponsor children Carlos and Blanca in Ecuador and visited them numerous times. Family life was precious. The kids were wonderful and fun to watch growing up through school years and beyond. Many pictures and videos were taken over time and enjoyed again in her final months. Most special were the weekends at the LacLu cottage, Black Sturgeon Lake and Loon Lodge, especially when close friends accompanied the family. The annual Enns family retreats at Camp Arnes and Star Lake were always precious. We remember these times as amongst the most important in our lives. Helen accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour early in life and cheerfully lived out her faith through everything she did. She will be greatly missed by many. Her greatest hope throughout her illness was that God's will be done whatever the outcome and that others would be drawn to Him as a result. The family thanks the wonderful staff at CancerCare McCharles, St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Center for their compassionate care. Thanks also to Tache Pharmacy and Anne Ediger of Home Care. Our appreciation goes to Pastors Tom and Glenn and the staff at Grant Memorial Church for their support and encouragement. We especially thank the scores of family and friends from around the world for their prayers and encouraging thoughts over the last two years. Without you all, this would have been much more difficult. We love you all. Viewing will be held Saturday, December 18 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg. Memorial service will be held Sunday, December 19 at 5:00 p.m. at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg. Private family interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to Compassion Canada or Crisis Pregnancy Center Winnipeg. MY LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS
